Who are we?
SESH is a collaborative project between the Southern Medical University Dermatology Hospital and the University of North Carolina China Programme Office. The main aim of the project is to use "crowdsourcing contest" to inspire the creation of more creative, equitable and effective health services. "Crowdsourcing is a process whereby a group of people work together to solve a problem and share the resulting solution with the general public, usually in the form of an open contest, which ultimately brings together different ideas. Our mission is to harness the wisdom of the crowd to design health services that are creative, fair and effective.
Project Description :
The Research Assistant will be responsible for the implementation and coordination of the HPV Vaccine Pay-it-forward project. The project is a joint project between SESH and Olive Branch Health, which aims to develop a digital "pay-it-forward" platform to establish and improve a multi-party collaboration between a research platform (SESH), an internet healthcare platform (Olive Branch), community participation and local healthcare institutions for girls of the right age to receive HPV vaccination. The project is expected to improve HPV vaccination rates and health service equity, and ultimately contribute to the ambitious goal of having 90% of women under 15 years of age vaccinated against HPV by 2030 in China.
Job Description :
1. site execution: recruitment of study participants, study participant enrolment and follow up according to the needs of the research project.
2. data collation: collate, count and analyse research data and report to the research team on a regular basis.
3. process support: assist in communication and material support for various collaborators at all stages of research project design, execution and data processing.
4. essay writing: collate and analyse data and write English reports and scientific articles.
Requirements for the position:
1. Master's degree or higher in health statistics, epidemiology or other public health related discipline.
2. good interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
3. facilitating community engagement and interaction through online and offline communication.
4. good data analysis and English writing skills.
Preference will be given to those with experience working or studying in an international context.
Extensive experience in project coordination or field implementation in the field of public health or sexual health (e.g. HIV, STD, HPV, hepatitis, etc.)
Salary level:
RMB9,500 per month before tax (including social security), the position is pre-contracted for one year with the possibility of extension if performance is excellent.

Project Description :
The SESH SIHI Centre is an implementing centre of the UNICEF, UNDP, World Bank and WHO Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, which will use 'crowdsourcing competition' to stimulate and create more innovative, equitable and effective health services. We share a common goal of driving social innovation to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and improve the lives of communities in low and middle income countries. Our mission is to unlock the capacity of health system participants to drive social innovation, and the SESH SIHI Centre is collaborating with WHO TDR and WHO WPRO on global and regional social innovation projects.
Job Description :
1. Designing and leading social innovation projects.
2. Implementing the WHO TDR/SIHI project, organising crowdsourcing competitions or assisting other countries to develop crowdsourcing competitions, organising workshops, following up on the progress of the specific implementation of the competitions.
3. Developing promotional materials for the competition, and posting and promoting them on social media.
4. Promoting community engagement and interaction through online and offline communication.
5. Maintaining good communication with other SIHI implementation centres, government agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders.
6. Participating in WHO social innovation project meetings and writing progress reports on relevant WHO projects.
7. Working cross-functionally with different teams to meet the needs of partners.
8. Assisting with applications for social innovation project funds.
Requirements for the position:
1. Have obtained a master's degree or higher in public health, behavioural sciences, sociology, social work or a related field in the health field and a degree.
2. Have at least 5 years or more experience working in project management or social innovation
3. Experience of working cross-functionally at different levels of management, both internally and externally.
4. Strong communication, reading and writing skills in English and Chinese, with the ability to use English as a working language.
5. Good at working independently while also working well with a team.
Preferred candidates
Preference will be given to those with international work experience or study background.
A Master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
Salary level:
RMB16,250-18,958 per month before tax (including social security, depending on ability), with a one-year contract upfront, extendable with good performance.
